Youth Attendee Requirements
The 2026 National Jamboree is open to Scouts BSA and Venturers who meet the following eligibility requirements:
To attend as a youth participant, you must:
- Be a registered member of Scouts BSA, Venturing, or Sea Scouting at the time of the event.
- Be at least 12 years old and First Class Rank by the first day of the Jamboree and not turn 18 before the last day (for Scouts BSA members).
- Meet BSA medical and physical fitness requirements to participate in high-adventure activities.
- Commit to living by the Scout Oath and Law at all times.
Unit Requirements
- Scouts will be assigned to a Miami Valley Council Jamboree Troop, with youth leadership positions available.
- Unit meetings and training will be held before the event to prepare for the experience.

Adult Attendees
The Miami Valley Council contingent for the 2026 National Jamboree will need qualified and enthusiastic adult leaders to guide Scouts through this once-in-a-lifetime experience. If you are a dedicated Scouter with a passion for youth leadership and adventure, we encourage you to apply!
Adult Contingent Leader Positions Available – MUST Apply By MARCH 6th, 2025 by 11:59 PM
Each Jamboree contingent unit requires the following leadership roles:
- Scoutmaster (1 per unit) – Serves as the primary leader and mentor.
- Assistant Scoutmasters (3 per unit) – Support the Scoutmaster and help manage logistics, discipline, and activities.
Eligibility Requirements
To apply as an adult contingent leader, you must:
- Be a registered BSA leader in Miami Valley Council at the time of application.
- Have current Youth Protection Training (YPT).
- Meet BSA medical and physical fitness requirements for participation.
- Have experience leading youth in Scouts BSA, Venturing, or Sea Scouting.
- Be available for pre-Jamboree meetings, training, and contingent activities.
- Be committed to upholding the Scout Oath and Law while fostering a positive and safe experience for all participants.
Selection Process
- Application Submission – Interested leaders must submit an application form (linked below).
- Interview & Review – Candidates will be interviewed by the Council Jamboree Committee to assess their experience, leadership skills, and ability to manage a contingent unit.
- Final Selection & Training – Selected leaders will participate in pre-Jamboree training sessions to prepare for the event.
Registration & Cost
The total cost ($2300) of attending the 2026 National Jamboree includes:
- National Jamboree registration fee ($1560 set by BSA National).
- Miami Valley Council contingent fee ($740 set by council), which covers:
- Transportation to and from Summit Bechtel Reserve (charter bus)
- Meals, lodging, and equipment (travel meals and lodging, tents, ect)
- Council-branded gear (T-shirts, patches, backpacks, etc.)
- Pre-Jamboree training events and meetings
Total Cost: $2300
Payment Schedule & Fundraising
To make the Jamboree more accessible, a payment schedule will be available, allowing families to pay in installments. Payment schedule linked below. Scouts can also participate in fundraising opportunities, such as:
- Popcorn and camp card sales
- Sponsorship and scholarship programs
- Council-organized fundraising events
Financial assistance may be available for qualifying Scouts.
